Homerun Derby, All - Star Games and Picnic Schedule

Picnic Weekend is Only One Week Away!

Read below for information regarding the weekend's events:

Friday, July 19th: Coaches Home Run Derby

5:45 p.m. Coaches will be competing in the 2nd Annual Coaches Home Run Derby, sponsored by Ace Delivery Service. Coaches should plan to arrive at least 15 minutes early and bring a bat and a pitcher for their turn at bat. The top 2 coaches will advance to the championship on Sunday, July 21st at the picnic.

Saturday, July 20th: Home Run Derby & All-Star Games

11:00 a.m. on Diamond 6: T-Ball All-Star Game - 2 players from each of our 12 T-Ball teams will be selected to play in our 6th Annual All-Star Game! Come enjoy the fun!

1:00 p.m. on Diamond 6: Peewee All-Star Game - 2 players from each of our 10 Peewee teams have been selected to play in our 1st Annual All-Star Game. Come cheer on the Dunham Bombers and Dunham Dirt Devils!

10:00 a.m. on Diamond 1: Home Run Derby Prelims - 2 players selected from all Rookie, Minors, and Mustang divisions will compete in a Home Run Derby. The top 2 players from each division will advance to the championship on Picnic Day. Players participating in the derby should arrive 30 minutes before their time slot.

Schedule:

  • 10:00 a.m.: Rookie
  • 11:30 a.m.: Minors
  • 1:00 p.m.: Majors
  • 2:30 p.m.: Seniors

Sunday, July 21st: Picnic Day

As always, we expect the Annual DBBO Picnic to be one of the highlights of the summer. All teams are free to secure their own food and beverage plans and are responsible for providing a team raffle basket. Most importantly, bring your whole family and invite your friends!

Aside from the scheduled activities, the day always provides endless summer fun and entertainment. Kids are encouraged to bring balls, frisbees, water guns, etc., for a fun-filled day in the park. Many people typically start arriving before or during the championship games. Teams can secure their picnic areas on Sunday morning. Following is a tentative schedule for the day.

Schedule:

  • Raffle Prize Drop-Off: 8:00 - 10:00 a.m., Stage Area
  • Travelin’ Tom’s Coffee Truck: 8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.; Stop by for a coffee!
  • Raffle Ticket Sales Begin: 10:00 a.m., near stage and Diamond 6
  • Championship Games (Rookie - Majors): 10:00 a.m.
  • HR Derby Finals: 12:00 p.m.
  • Team Awards: 1:00 p.m.
  • Raffle Ticket Sales End: 3:50 p.m.
  • Grand Raffle: 4:00 p.m., Stage Area (must be present to win!)
  • Egg Toss Event: 5:00 p.m.
  • DJ (Music and Dancing): After raffle ends

Important Note from the Chicago Park District:

NO VEHICLES ON PATHWAYS - NOT EVEN TO DROP OFF SUPPLIES. If any vehicles are on the pathways, it will be reported by park district staff and will result in a loss of our security deposit. Families must adhere to this!

No vendors driving on park property to drop off supplies, such as food, tables, chairs, inflatables, etc. The same rules apply as above.

No open flame BBQs/BBQs with charcoal. We do not have coal cans at Dunham.

Dunham Bulls Tryouts -- Register Now!

Register now to try out for the 2025 Dunham Bulls Travel teams. Tryouts are open to players entering 8u - 15u divisions.  All try outs will be held at Read Dunning Field (*unless otherwise noted).
